When I was little, I had a bad dream that my parents left me at the park.

It's a memory that came to mind during a late night drive as an adult.  It alarmed me, not because the dream was scary, but because I realized that one day my kids will have bad dreams that I won't be able to protect them from.

But I will be able to comfort them after the fact, the way that my mom and dad did.

I never had a dream like that again.
