An eerie, 500-word interactive fiction created for the Neo-Twiny Jam.  Revisit your childhood mall on the night before the bulldozers come to destroy it. Enjoy it while you can.

This IF is exactly 500 words, minus the title page (per the rules of the jam, the title page does not count against the word count).

UPDATE:  I fixed the error with the music!  (I left a .wav music file the music track passage, which is what was causing the problem.  Thanks to Manonamora for helping me figure that out!) No more errors should pop up.

(Also, if you want to change the volume of the music, just click on the bar on the left side of the screen.)

The music choice was excellent. It gave it a very cozy and nostalgic yet subtlely unsettling atmosphere.

I'm a big fan of liminal spaces, so this was a fun one. Gotta love how the protagonist just casually ignores the message towards the end. Who wouldn't want to live in a liminal mall forever?

I love liminal spaces, too!  For me, they give me a sense of comfort rather than fear.  Glad you liked it!

Nice game, well done! I'm also a developer, may I ask what coding language or platform you used to make this game? Looked interesting to me

I used Twine, specifically the Harlowe 3.2.3 format and the Harlowe Audio Library to get the music to play.

Such a sweet and short IF, I loved the way the words painted a picture in my mind, the music brought it together really well too.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was important to me that I convey this liminal moment with as few words as possible while still giving the player a full image of their environment.

This is nice! A really good use of a tiny word count.

Thank you very much! I enjoyed the challenge.

This is the error that I get in the console:
track: unsupported file type "wav -->"
a.newTrack @ VM24:6

I would guess it has to do with the audio files you have in the zip?

Thank you so much!  What had happened was I left a .wav music file in my music track passage. I had commented it out (or so I thought) when I used a different music file.  Anyways, the problem has been resolved.  Thanks again!
